Bringing accessible plant growth to Winnipeg weather
The Project
UMEarth’s Greenhouse project will help to create accessible and affordable food production in Winnipeg, all throughout the year.
This project has been ongoing since winter 2020 and since then, a preliminary report and design have been created. The greenhouse will be built with portable and affordable materials that will keep plants warm in the winter and cool them down in the summer.
In 2022-2023, UMEarth plans to complete the project, building and testing it on the University of Manitoba Campus.

Progress
The team has created CAD designs. These designs include the greenhouse and a heat exchanger. We have begun construction on the frame of the greenhouse.
